Band great, venue terrible

Band was great, always is. This venue is terrible for the following 1. Usually parking is free, for some reason had to take ticket, more on parking later 2. In the middle of a heat wave, can’t bring in sealed water. Every other venue we went to this summer encouraged water, but the one, the Hartford “Healthcare” risks our health or forces us to buy $5+ water 3. So many seats (including ours) are obstructed view. We couldn’t see the left side of the stage, blocking a view of the Pig among other things. There was nothing on our tickets saying obstructed view, other venues always tell you if view is obstructed. This is the second time this year we were surprised with obstructed views. 4. Despite the venue being ½ empty in the 200 and 300 sections, the were crazy in blocking us from moving to a seat where we could actually see the whole stage. 5. Back to parking. We learned that some shows are not free parking. Not sure how you are supposed to know which is which. We were very close to the exit, but it took about 40 minutes to exit. During about 39 of those 40 minutes we moved about 5 car lengths. We later learned this was because the had only one person collecting money. Ironically, a venue that constantly tells you that they are cash free, only takes cash in the parking lot. We can only guess that most people were surprised to be paying and may not have had cash. Many people started breaking out of an exit for monthly parking passes, almost breaking the gate and driving over the curb to exit through the entrance ( at least we had entertainment while waiting). Finally 2 of the garage attendants got in an argument and then just let everyone leave without paying, probably avoiding the building riot. So 3 stars. 5 for the band and their great music and lights and a zero for the venue. Will think twice before returning. If I hadn’t already bought the tickets for this show, I would have went to Westville Music Bowl to see Aussie Floyd instead. Band not quite as good (imho) but venue way better (and reasonable priced concessions).
